I was staying at the Red Bluff Hampton Inn and decided to go out back as there is a larger field behind the hotel and a bunch of old trees some standing, and some down, that attracts birds and other wildlife. You can often see birds flying over. I only had my 300 mm mounted on my D700 and did not bring the rest down; I really needed my 1.7 TC. But I got this shot anyway. D700 with 300 mm f-4 AFS EDIF lens. f-5.6, 1-1250, ISO 400. Processed and cropped in Capture NX2. 2-4-16 NEF reprocessed using PSCS6 Extended and Picture Postcard workflow.
