Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken on the 11th of June, 2017. My wife and I had a day off and chose to drive to Stony Point, on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. It was a grey day, and I took photos of all the birds by the pier. This one and some Pelicans.Time
It would have been around lunchtime. We went to Somers Beach afterwards.Lighting
The lighting is natural, as it was on the day.Equipment
I used the Canon EOS 1100D, probably with the 70 to 200 mm lens. Hand held, no flash.Inspiration
I love taking photos, and would love nothing more than to go out and take pictures of nature. Especially animals, but birds seem to be the most numerous, or accessible.Editing
I don't do post production, having only recently purchased Lightroom 6, and a couple of books to work through it.In my camera bag
I have bought a Canon EOS 6D, with a Tamron 24 to 70 mm, f2.8 lens. For nature and bird photos I am more likely to use the Sigma 200 to 500mm lens. I also have a hähnel Modus 600RT flash unit, and a Sigma 70 to 200 mm. f2.8 lens. They are always in my car. The only thing is that when I am in my car I am usually going to work or shopping, not into nature to take photos.Feedback
My advice is to go for walks. To the beach, the forest, the hills, the wetlands, where ever there is nature, and animals. And keep your camera in the car, and take it with you always.
