At this time of year in Anchorage, Alaska the sun is noticeably dropping below the horizon more in a southwesterly direction than it did just a few weeks ago. This evening's sunset lit up an entire blanket of cloud which was especially nice. Several times earlier today the thick blanket of fog lying on top of Cook Inlet rose up and engulfed us in its amorphous grip before sinking once more into the thick blanket below.
