This was one of the most surreal yet beautiful moments I have had while Freediving in Tasmania. The east Australian current had brought warm water further south than usual bringing with it a tropical species of Leatherjacket in breathtaking numbers! I'm talking millions upon millions of them! The sad thing was that when they hit our cold waters they could no longer survive. For over a month they floated around half dead, eventually washing up on the beaches. It made for great photography and amazing freediving.
