This image was taken at the top of Kilimajaro at sunrise. I was with a small crew and a few guides. We left base camp at midnight to head for the summit in order to arrive to see the sun come up. I had a number of images in mind during our ascent and in order to keep a decent pace I had to continually run ahead of the group, setups my tripod, capture a few long exposures then pack up and do it all over again. It was -25C and by the time I captured this image my fingers were completely numb.
