Desolate and yet beautiful

Once the sun was up on the Cottonwood Lake No.3 side of the hill, I started heading back down to Cottonwood Lake No. 5. As the glow on the ridgeline towering over both No. 4 and No. 5 got intense, I got settled by this snag that I decided to frame in the foreground. While I was waiting for the orange glow to be reflected fully in the lakes, I took some shots of this desolate and yet beautiful alpine terrain where only a few trees remained struggling to survive.
