This port little guy was way up on the beach, far from the breakers. Not sure if high tide carried him up or perhaps a bird dropped him here. Instead of photographing him from the top down I decided to get down on my stomach, in the sand and get to ground level for a different perspective. This way you could see right into his gaping mouth. I then composed it on the right third keeping the golden mean spiral in mind. I used a 24 - 105mm lens with the focal length at 105mm to create shallow depth and opened the shutter all the way to f-4.0.
