I took this outside in my family's backyard in a little kids poolTime
Late afternoon when the sunight was still beautiful and bright but the sun was going down, giving me the perfect amount of shade from the surroundings to capture this beautiful boy splashing around in his little poolLighting
I prefer to always use natural light if possible and on this particular day, I waited for the sun to go down a bit to be able to capture this portrait in wonderful shade outdoors using beautiful natural lightEquipment

I love candid portraits of people, especially children and seeing his happy face while dunking his head over and over again in the pool of water was a moment I didn't hesitate to try and capture. And I'm glad I did! I have never seen a 2 year old boy enjoy water as much as him and loving having it all in his face with such laughter and happiness was so infectious, I couldn't help but share in his happiness during his playtime. Just sheer joy and laughter. You can't ask for a better moment to capture in a photograph to always remember that feeling of joy. It always brings a smile to my face when I look at it.Editing
I converted it to B&W and just added a bit of contrast and sharpness to give it a natural and slight boost.In my camera bag

Candid moments are so much fun for both you as a photographer and also for kids when they can just be themselves and have fun. Engage with them and smile and laugh with them while taking photos inbetween to be able to capture these precious moments of kids being themselves.
