Im not trying to be rude. I just need to understand whats going on, im lost. What was your motivation?
She’s dreaming with the nature all around

Personally I prefer the mystery to what is going on in the shot. Great shot tender, intimate, lovely tone ????????

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this self-portrait in my attic / home studio.
Time
It was dusk.
Lighting
I shot this using the natural light in my attic, which was quickly vanishing as the sun set beyond the horizon. I had my camera set to a slow shutter speed to compensate for the low light.
Equipment
I used my Fuji X-T2 and 35mm f/1.4 mounted on a tripod.
Inspiration
I do a lot of writing on a day to day basis. I use it as a way of expressing myself. I wouldn't go as far as calling it poetry, but I suppose it could class as that. My words tie together with my photographs quite closely. I usually start by scribbling down words or sketches that flood into my head. Sometimes I don't even have a solid idea, so I will just start shooting and see if something comes of it or not. In this case, I did start with some written words and concepts. However, this photograph was somewhat accidental and snapped between these ideas. Yet it encapsulated the feeling I was trying to convey better than I could have hoped.
Editing
I cropped and applied colour correction using Lightroom.
In my camera bag
I never leave the house without my Fuji XPro-1. I feel unbalanced if I don't feel the weight of it strapped around me and knocking against my hip bones. I usually have the 18mm f/2 and 35mm f/1.4 on my person. It's a really lightweight and versatile kit for day to day meandering. If I am going out specifically to shoot, as well as the above I will also always pack my Fuji X-T2 and Canon 5D MK II. I love the different characters of both Fuji's and my Canon. I also pack my nifty 50mm f/1.4, vintage 58mm f/1.9 and depending on the project, I may also take along my 45mm TS-E f/2.8.
Feedback
This was actually an 'in-between' shot that I would have probably thrown away when I first looked at it, but I try to hold off from immediately deleting outtakes from a shoot just in case. I advise that you leave them (just for a little while) then return with fresh eyes and a fresh mind to see if any ignite inspiration. Then experiment with post-processing. Also try experimenting with different lighting situations and don't be disheartened if your images don't turn out tack sharp. Embrace it.
