Location
Near the Paradise Inn, Ranier National Park, WATime
One of my favorite images from the trip. If you stay at the Paradise Inn, there are several trails behind the park and wildflower season in July and August are best. I believe this was early morning.Lighting
It was hazy with wildfire smoke and the mountain was out early morning.Equipment
This was shot using a tripod and my Nikon D 600. I believe I was using my 25-70mm.Inspiration
Landscapes are a favorite subject and what I really liked was the foreground in this photo.Editing
For this photo I definitely needed Dehaze! I bumped up clarity and played with the basic sliders. In my camera bag
At the time I shot this, I was using Nikon gear. I have thus sold that gear in favor of Sony mirrorless cameras. I do not like to change lenses in the field so I generally carry two cameras with different lenses depending on the shoot.Feedback
Always bring rain hoods for your camera gear. Especially in the pacific northwest! A tripod is a must since it was quite windy. Patience is also a must since there are many people who walk in front of you. I went with a photo tour and I find that these trips are so fun to meet other photographers and debate which gear is best. Staying at the Inn was really great because we went out in different lighting conditions and the flowers were in bloom.
