This is a very common scene in NS, especially in the spring when the waters are still cold and the winds are calm. It can take a long while to clear out...That is if they are no clouds topping the fog. Then the sun can not burn it off. I worked as a meteorologist in Halifax. I remember one spring, Yarmouth remained foggy for 21 days. For 21 days you couldn't even see the hand in front of your face. Meanwhile it was bright and sunny in the interior.
