That photo was taken at my friend's pool. That is why her fur is wet.Time
It was taken on a muggy July afternoon.Lighting
Nothing special. The sun was shinning and it was a very hot day. I just made sure to take the shot in a shaded area as to avoid burnt highlights.Equipment
I used my trusty Lumix G9 from Panasonic. The lense I use most of the time is my G Vario 1:3.5-5.6 12-60mm OIS (stabilized lense). It works in tandem with the in-body stabilization of the G9. It is also my smallest lense. That gives me a compact system to carry around. Since the G9 is a micro four third camera, it has a 2X crop factor. That means that my 12-60mm is equivalent to a 24-120mm full frame. So it covers the wide-angle to small telep?oto range. Very flexible. I love that lense.Inspiration
What can I say. I own a beautiful dog with beautiful eyes. Do I need to say more... :))Editing
I cropped the image quite a bit. I use Gigapixel from the Topaz suite to increase the size and definition of the file. I boosted the contrast a tad. I darkened the background surrounding the dog to make it pop more. I love dark backgrounds. I took extra care to sharpen the eyes.In my camera bag
You'll find the complete info under '' Gustave's B&W '' profile shot (Bi-black Australian Shepherd). Another one of my most popular shots.Feedback
Practice makes perfect. With the pictures that I especially like, I will reprocess them as my skills get better or if I want to create a different feel for the image. Have fun, that's what is most important. :))
