Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in a restored dining car from the mid 1800's in Dubois, PA.

Time

This was taken near mid day.

Lighting

I use a Godox battery powered strobe as a fill light. This spot on the train car was fairly dark...

Equipment

I believe this was taken with a Canon 6D and my Sigma 24-35 F2.

Inspiration

This was a steampunk themed shoot and the location, the light and the colors, not to mention a great model, made for an epic scene.

Editing

I did some light editing in Lightroom, but the photo didn't require much.

In my camera bag

I was exclusively a Canon shooter, but after falling into 8 feet of water with my camera, I decided to make a change to Sony. I currently shoot with an A7R II and an A7 III. Currently i only have the 55mm Zeiss and the 85mm 1.8 from Sony. Other than that I have adapted some of my Canon glass with a Metabones adapter.

Feedback

Take your time and find those unique angles and backgrounds for your photos. Having a great model to work with also helps...
