My amazing friend Thatcher invited me on a once in a lifetime trip of rafting down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. I of course took full advantage, bought a pelican case for my camera, and embarked on a life-changing journey through ancient terrain below 4,000 ft cliffs amid some of Earth's most amazing scenery imaginable. For this photograph, I frantically scrambled in sand-filled rubber boots up and down a cactus-strewn hillside to find the perfect composition just before the sunset blew up.
