I love the feeling of infinity in this open road shot. This is a common shot in my attempts at photography but I very seldom manage to get the mood in this one! This fits into my idea of a good shot: it stirs my emotions.

Location
This photo was taken in the very picturesque Iceland.Time
We were travelling along the ring road and I just had to pull over to take this photo. What fantastic light it was.Lighting
The sun had just broken through the clouds and was really lighting up the mountains. The unpredictable weather in Iceland really can work in your favour.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D810 and a Zeiss lens. I used a ND grad to help darken the sky.Inspiration
The amazing landscape and the beautiful light was the inspiration behind this shot. Everywhere you look in Iceland there is something to point the camera at.Editing
I used Lightroom and photoshop to convert this image to monochrome. The levels and contrast were changed to really make the image pop.In my camera bag
I normally have a D810 with a selection of prime lenses. ND filters a remote and plenty of spare batteries and SD cards.Feedback
In Iceland the best thing to do is go exploring. There's so much to see.
