The Southern Transcon railroad line runs, from Southern California to Chicago, Illinois; which is roughly the same path Route 66 follows
The Transcon is one of the most heavily trafficked rail corridors in the Western United States, with an average of almost 90 trains crossing this Southwestern, U.S. corridor daily, at approximately 15 minute intervals.
Each train usually spans 6000 to 8000 feet (Approximately 1.3 miles, + or - ), in length
