Beautiful and yet mysterious
As the sun was sinking deeper, Cathedral Peak was losing its glow fast. Eichorn Pinnacle lost its shine a few moments ago. I turned to Cockscomb. It was still radiating full on. I wondered what it would be like to catch sunset at the top of either of them. Of course, reaching either summit isn’t like walking in the park. I mean, both class 4 rated Cathedral Peak (10,912 feet) and Cockscomb (11,065 feet) would definitely involve the use of a rope. I’ve never climbed a peak using a rope before... The reflections of them in the water was almost surreal. Combined with such tranquility, they both looked beautiful and yet mysterious. What a mesmerizing sight. I had been waiting for this moment for quite some time. Then, it was almost time for us to head back. It’d get real dark on our way back to the trailhead.
