Incredibly formidable and beautiful
As the sun dipped closer to the horizon, the glow cast on every surface got intense. The waves were crashing hard against the 100-plus-year-old breakwater. The breakwater has been smacked relentlessly by the waves since the work began at the turn of the 19th century. The iconic Los Angeles Harbor Lighthouse, aka Angel’s Gate Lighthouse, standing at the end of the 9,250-foot long breakwater, also glowed in warm hue against the soft purple sky in the far distance. As fearsome and insanely alarming as Mother Nature can be, what she bears also can be incredibly formidable and beautiful. High surf advisory is in place. A big storm is coming. It’ll be menacing. Can’t wait to go back out there once it passes by.
