The beautiful Hoopoe, voted a few years ago as the national bird of Israel, a split second after take off. It feeds off insects which it pulls out of the grind using its long beak. Unfortunately it's getting harder and harder to see one, as other bird species, such as the Common Myna, have migrated into Israel and taken her favorite areas.
