Location
The photo was taken near Hadera, Israel, not far from where I live. The beautiful European Bee-Eaters, come to nest at this location every year, and I make it a habit to go, observe and photograph these amazing birds.Time
This was taken during the morning hours, when they are most active.Lighting
It was a cloudy day, which is good since the light was not too harsh.Equipment
A Panasonic Lumix GX8, with a Panasonic Leica 100-400 f/4-6.3 lens.Inspiration
The European Bee-Eaters are arguably the most beautiful birds in the sky, even dubbed "flying works of art" by a local birding guide. So having the privilege of them nesting not far from where I live is a real treat!Editing
Just a little cropping and color correction. In my camera bag
I've since upgraded to a Panasonic Lumix G9, but kept the lens. I also have the Panasonic Leica 12-60 f/2.8-4 lens, and the Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. Plus a tripod or monopod id necessary, and some ND filters.Feedback
If you want to photograph animals, you need to first learn their behavior and preferences, but never disturb them.
