With so many snow photos in my collection it was difficult to take still more but this appealed in its simple layout and particularly in the flecks of falling snow that made it into a pattern. I reduced the colour to de-saturate the green, not because it was that greyed but because i felt that it gave a better impression of cold. I have used a standard division of space, because i wanted the image to speak plainly of silence, the drift of flakes, the forest itself, and not call attention to compositional technique, to the two dimensional surface qualities. See into the picture plane, feel this moment.
