One of 149 lighthouses in Michigan ( more than any other state) the New Presque light was built in 1870 and stands 109 feet (33 meters) tall. The current light can be seen up to 25 miles off the Northeastern shore in Lake Huron.

This lighthouse replaces the original Presque light, a few miles South, which stands at only 38 feet tall (12 meters).
Both lighthouses are said to be haunted.
