Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in an abandoned hospital near Florence. To be precise, the former Sanatorium Banti

Time

It was taken around 6 pm with the sun setting on Florence (ospdale is on the hill). One of the most beautiful hours of the day. Fortune wanted (although it was winter - 2017-01-17) that the sunset was clean and colorful

Lighting

Lighting is absolutely natural.

Equipment

The shot was made free by positioning me from the opposite side of the hospital to give the perspective I wanted. I used my Nikon D5 with Nikkor 24-70 f 2.8 on the 40mm focal point. 1/320 - f4 - iso 200 under 2 stop

Inspiration

The inspiration was given by the beautiful place but totally abandoned and destroyed. Light almost made him live again and the girl gave a touch of life to a deadly environment

Editing

No special post production. Only raw file development with light shadow clearing. Then I increased the definition and slightly straightened the perspective lines with Photoshop.

In my camera bag

Normally I carry the Nikon D5 with me. The lenses I normally carry with me are: Nikon 14-24 f2.8; 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8. This is the standard equipment I usually wear with me. I have other lenses and equipment but I use only in specific cases.

Feedback

It learns observing and understanding what you want to represent. Studying the composition of the photo from the click. For this, I moved to the o pposite side of the hospital. However, in these cases the advice is to quickly make the click that you have in mind because the right moment and light very quickly disappear . It never postpones after a shot you did see. It is not the same thing already 5 minutes later!
