Behind The Lens

Location

I love these two babies playing. It was a fabulous couple of days to see so many babies together at Chengdu Panda Reserve in China.

Time

It was mid-morning when these guys appeared. I did several loops around the enclosures until they came out to play.

Lighting

It was daylight and no direct sun so it is easier to adjust aperture.

Equipment

I was just getting started with Sony and I believe this was with a Sony A6300 and a 70-200 lens. But on this trip I also used my Nikon D600 for night scenes.

Inspiration

I was hoping to get some playful panda cub shots. there would be as many as 11 together in the same enclosure! It was so fun to watch. They chase each other and fall over, climb and fall. I just could not stand the cuteness. I was really trying to get some tumbling and roughhousing. I think I achieved that.

Editing

I usually only use basics in post-processing in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Back in those days, I used my Nikon D 600 but I am only using my Sony AR7iii and iv. With a 16-35mm lens and 200-600mm lens.

Feedback

Patience! I look through the viewfinder to compose a shot and not the back screen. I sometimes use burst mode for action but did not for this.
