With good winter weather forecast, I decided to take a trip to Anglesey to seek out some photographic opportunitites.
Following an early morning walk along a dark & cold Newborough beach, I reached Ynys Llanddwyn prior to sunrise.
The views did not disappoint and as forecast, there was clear visibility across Caernarfon Bay to the mountainous ranges of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula.
This image of Twr Bach with Yr Eifl on the horizon was captured prior to sunrise at the end of Ynys Llanddwyn
Two Bach was originally built as a landmark and day beacon or an unlit lighthouse.
However, ii is believed to have been built in the wrong place as ships approaching from the west could not easily see the beacon. Subsequently, the larger lighthouse on the island, Twr Mawr, was built to replace it.
