On the opposite side of the road to the glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón, there is a beautiful black sand beach where parts of the icebergs from the lagoon are washed up from the sea.
Sometimes, this beach is referred to as the diamond beach due to the contrast of the ice in relation to the black volcanic sands.
This particular piece of ice brought thoughts of a diving dolphin as the waves crashed in around it.
