This is a special photo in more ways than one. This was taken down the road from my home. I pass it every time I need to go into town. It happened to have snowed and I was able to talk my husband into driving me down to get this photo. The sun decided to pop out as we got there. The photo made huge impact on me and my desire to become a professional photographer. I have Photos of every season of this barn. The owner have also let me use the barn as a part of a meteor show shootTime
It was early afternoon when this was taken. We got up to 16 inches of snow, which is a lot for where we liveLighting
I set my f stop quite high to get this photo, because I wanted to get a sunburst. i was still new with using this technique. I had to lower the lighting because of the high by stop. I was surprised with how the photo turned out.Equipment
This was shot a canon 5d mark iii. F18, 1/160, ISO 100. I used no tripod or a flash. I think my lens was a 24-70mmInspiration
I have always looked at things and seen things just a little differently than people around me. I find beauty in so many off the wall things that I just wanted to capture what I see. My father always had a camera in his hand and I wanted to have one also. Once I had one, it was like a part of me that had been missing was finally found. Photography brings me such joy and happiness.Editing
With this photo I used a touch of hdr to add a little umph to the photo. Other than that, I really didn't do anything. In my camera bag
My bag is heavy for normally I have anything and everything in my bad. I carry each lens I own, extra batteries, flash cards and sd cards, a flash, any filters I own, reflectors for portraits trigger release, lens hoods, extra lens caps because I always seem to loose them, cleaning kit and cloths, my camera manual, rain gear and a flashlight.Feedback
The best advice I can give is to keep you imagination open. Most people would have passed on where I was taking the photo. They would have gone for the front view of the barn. We each see things differently and that difference can become a treasure
