Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at our local Wild Life Reserve - The Baskett Slough, outside of Dallas Oregon.

Time

I took this photo after the West Valley Camera Club meeting where we had the opportunity to play with lenses that we can't afford or just don't have. It was about 8 p.m. and the sun was starting to set for the day. I wanted to try and capture something different than what I would normally photograph

Lighting

I used a f/22 to get the starburst effect. I had the camera on a tripod and set clear down to a 1/15. This allowed me to still get enough light to capture this sunset.

Equipment

At this time I was using a canon 5d mark ii, as I had accidently dropped and lost my canon 5d mark iii in a rushing river. I used a tripod and a trigger remote so that I wouldn't shake the camera

Inspiration

I love out of the box photography. So taking a photo of something most people would pass by, is right up my alley. This caught my eye

Editing

I put this in lightroom then, I added a little her to it to enhance the colors

In my camera bag

Normally my back is completely loaded. So I probably had a flash, reflectors, every lens I own and extra memory cards and batteries

Feedback

Be Patient. My best advice for any photographer. Don't rush your shot and take several. You never know which one will be the best shot
