We are paddling our fifty year old ( we bought it nearly new) Chestnut canoe along a fjord in northern Vancouver island and are very happy that it is an unusually calm day. There is no room to get ashore in a hurry along these steep fjord sides. The fog that worried us earlier has dissipated we have the tide with us, and our haul out is only a couple of miles ahead. I think the photo reflects our mood, in colour, in the horizontal lines, in the relaxed pose of the bow paddler and even in the puffy good weather clouds.
