Having to take my dog Libby for a walk in Richmond park I take a camera with me...these two red deer stags started to mock rut so I moved in close to get the head shot....Editing
a little sharpenning but not much else.pictures are mainly shot in full manual mode no auto focus or auto exposureIn my camera bag
a nikon D5100 and a D3200 , nikkor 300mm 2.8 manual focus(over 35years old) 300-70mm vr 3.5-5.6 IF , 105mm 2.5 manual , 18-55mm ,1.4 and 2x convertors....Feedback
Getting close up to Red Deer during the rutting season is not a good idea it could be very dangerous.....this picture was taken in January 2017 when the Deer are far more relaxed...If you went looking to get this shot you could wait a very long time and or miss it when it happens, so go to Richmond park and other deer parks with no plans in mind and see what the day presents you...remember you have no control over the animals or the lighting
