A very nice shot - taken in a very nice place. Richmond is where I was born 70 years ago!

Behind The Lens

Location

it was on one of my walks around Richmond park

Time

this was taken in the afternoon while looking for deer to photograph.

Lighting

was a bit dull over head and some cloud.

Equipment

this was taken with my Nikon d3200 with a 70-200mm 2.8 lens at 200mm 400 iso 1000/1 at f4

Inspiration

I saw the dragon flies chasing each other a round the pond when this one settled on this twig about 6ft out in the pond, it looked to be laying its eggs.....took about 6 frames before it flew off.

Editing

not much post processing as its not a great skill of mine.

In my camera bag

Nikon d5100 and d3200, 18-55mm, 70-200mm 2.8, 300mm 2.8 (manual) and 2x converter and tripod.

Feedback

the fist thing I would say is you don't need a macro to shoot all small subjects this shot was cropped a bit in post processing shot on a 70 -200 mm lens.
