Great capture, you have a marvellous gallery of birds and animals. You must have tons of patience :)

Its not so much patience, its that most are in my back garden,so i sit at the open window and they come and go....some times i have to wait maybe 15 mins before a bird shows

Location
the picture was taken in my back garden were I have set up a feeder station, with plenty of food on offer I get around 14-15 types of bird visiting.Time
In the summer birds arrive around 5-30am and the starlings tend to be the loudest of my visitors, this picture was taken around eight am, starling young like to let every body know that they need feeding.Lighting
Shooting in my garden I don't have any control over the lighting..it is what it is on the day.Equipment
most of my bird pictures are taken on a Nikon D3200 or some times my Nikon D5100 this shot was with the D5100 with a 300 mm 2.8 manual focus Nikon lens that is 28 years old.Inspiration
I started taking pictures of birds when I had a bad back and was stuck in doors for 4 weeks ,and one picture I was after was the parent bird feeding its young.Editing
not much is done in post processing other than a touch of sharpening as I'm not much good on that side of things. In my camera bag
my bag contains a18-55mm,70-300mm 3.5-5.6 if ed vr,105mm 2.8 manual ,300 mm 2.8 and 2x converter ,tri-pod and mono pod plus 2 sb28 flash guns.Feedback
Start with a bird feeder and get the birds feeding with confidents and move it closer to you window over a 2 week period un till you can almost fill the frame with the longest lens you have. Even though I take pictures from my windows I still keep all movement to a minimum and try not to spook the birds, if you can have your window open with a blind or some kind of curtain to hide behind this will help and give the birds more confidents when feeding.
