I wanted to do this kind of photography a long time ago but could not find someone to model for me , so I decided to just take my bike and gear and attempt to capture the milky way with myself as a model. The place is not easily accessible so the bike was helpful so as to get near the position that I planned before hand.
Photopills and TPE apps were more than helpful to indicate the exact position and time of the rise of the Galactic center.
After lots of trial and error so as to find the best position for me regarding the camera , by shooting -going back to view the image - shoot - going back .. etc , I was trying to set the camera when I heard an aeroplane taking off near by ... I runned to my position pressed the remote and stood still for the 30 seconds of exposure. For my luck the trail of the aeroplane was compositionally good and in my opinion adds to the image.
Nikon D800 ,Nikon 14-24 @ 16mm and ISO 3200 @ f-2.8 and 30 seconds.
Camera raw for leveling , and contrast , PS for noise removal , adding some contrast and sharpening.
No alteration in PS whatsoever.
