I drove to "Kouklia" ,a 90 minute back and forth trip, where this rock is resting in the sea , every wendsday and sunday for the past 2 months waiting for some nice light.During that time I managed to get 2 frames that I like and this is one of them ! Looking at the back of the camera when I took this one it looked the same as the one here :) The NEF file differs very little from the final Jpeg I am uploading here. A single Raw frame taken with the Nikon D800 and Nikon 14-24mm f-2.8 plus Nisi 10 stop ND and Nisi 3 stop reverse grad ND. Exposure was 4,6 sec; f-3,2; ISO 800. I needed the 4 second shutter speed to show the water ripples but could not achieve that speed without the 10 stop and this explains the 800 ISO. I must invest into a 4 stop Nisi ND for more flexibility .... but with the rate I am breaking them I am reluctant to do it :)
Almost no processing here. Just lens correction in Camera raw , and sharpening in Photoshop PS6. I composed the scene having in mind to crop later , but after seeing the image in PS I decided to let it as it was , not even straighten.
