When the valley unfolds before your eyes...
I arrived at Logan Pass after driving on Going-To-The-Sun Road along the really long Saint Mary Lake for a while. What greeted me there was the expansive view of the deep, almost endless, St. Mary Valley and the arrays of mountains enclosing it from both sides. The peak of Going-To-The-Sun Mountain on the left was barely emerging out of the rain clouds that was advancing fast and started to sprinkle. On the right Heavy Runner Mountain jutted upward and blocked the whole view of Citadel Mountain. In the center Little Chief Mountain led the army of mountains behind it. Reynolds Creek, joined by the sloping Lunch Creek, ran across the vast, lush valley to meet the aforementioned lake, which was not visible from the pass. It rained a lot for sure, but I also saw amazing and insane formation of clouds moving constantly, as though they were dancing, across the entire mountain range. Even when it raining, Glacier National Park never disappointed me.
