Location
This photo was taken in Rosharon Texas, in October 2016. During a training camp for the women's head down world record that was accomplished later in November of 2016.Time
It was the last jump of the day, so it was around 5:30 in the afternoon.Lighting
Of course, i love the lighting on this photo, i know that when the sun is low it will always be beautiful to have the silhouette of the skydivers against the sun and it was my intention to capture that. I positioned my self far enough looking at the sun when the skydivers were breaking off to safely deploy their parachutes.Equipment
For this photo i used my canon 6D with a 24-105 4L, mounted on my helmet with a really Right Stuff lever clamp and shot it with a bite switch that i made myself. I did not want to use a flash for this photo, since i wanted to capture the silhouettes of the skydivers.Inspiration
Skydiving produces beautiful imaging, action, environment and at the same time it could look peaceful even thought we were falling at about 150mph. The ladies on the photo have trained hard for years to break the world record and this was the last training camp before the real attempts to break it, so i decided to get on the plane and jump with them to give them inspiration with a beautiful photo.Editing
Yes, my post processing for this kind of photos is very minimal, i used lightroom to enhance colors and add a little bit of sharpening. In my camera bag
Wow it depends on what i'm shooting, but i normally have my canon 5D mkIII and my 6D, my 24-105 4L, 24-70 2.8L, 70-200 2.8, 50mm and 85mm, sometimes i use my 15mm fisheye for some creative photos, plus flashes, cards, filters, manfrotto tripods, among other things depending on the job.Feedback
Yes, train, learn how to see the light, know your environment and the action sport you are shooting, get creative, research other photographers in search of inspiration but always be yourself and most importantly, get out there and shoot.
