Mt. Whyte rose behind Lake Agnes
It was quite windy when I arrived at Lake Agnes. I put my windbreaker on. While thinking to myself that the lake was rather larger than I imagined, I couldn’t help myself but staring at what rose behind the lake - Devil’s Thumb and Mt. Whyte. The famous Tea House wasn’t even registered in my mind. What a view! I decided to take a short break while admiring the peaks before continuing my way to the Big Beehive. Instead of going to the left to continue to the Big Beehive, if I take the path to the right, it would lead me to the lower scree slopes and short cliffs, and eventually lead me to the top of Mt. Whyte. Well, I didn’t have a helmet or anything to scramble up the slopes. It is not an easy hike. It would’ve been very cool to go up to Devil’s Thumb though.
