This Gray Catbird has an unusual call for a bird. If you think you hear an actual cat in trouble, it's more than likely this bird. Their song sounds just like a cat in trouble and can be considered both annoying and piercing to ones ears. They tend to live within the thickets and vine tangles or bushes. Catbirds are relatives of the Mockingbirds and thrashers, as they tend to share almost the same vocal abilities. They are usually a somber gray bird with a black cap and rusty feathers under their tail.
