A close view of St Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral in central Sofia. It is quite a remarkable building built in Byzantine style. Its building started in 1882 and finished in 1912. It is one of the largest Orthodox Christian cathedrals in the World. The gold plated bell tower and dome are 53 m and 45 m high respectively. The cathedral occupies an area of more than 3000 square meters and can hold 10,000 people inside.
