Great shot of my favorite bird! I hope to see them in their natural habitat someday!

Location
On the Farne Islands in NorthumbriaTime
This was actually taken during an excursion by boat at about 3-4 pm in the afternoon in July.Lighting
Not really, the sun was high so very with some cloud so quite bright, not the ideal time to take images of anything that is white.Equipment
My Pentax K3 and an old 180mm f2. Tamron SP adaptall lens, manual focus. The longest lens I had at the time, but a beautiful piece of glass, and I was using a monopod for stability.Inspiration
They are beautiful and enigmatic birds the puffins and with a beak full of sand eels, who could resist taking some shots of these birds, me and as many other photographers could find a spot.Editing
Yes basic raw editing in LR and then processed the image in PS using nik software. The result was ok but I decided to reprocess and using nik filters added the sun top right to give some more balance and warmth to the image. In my camera bag
I now have Pentax K3 and K3 II, with Pentax 12-24mm, 16-50mm, 50-135mm and 60-250. I have also upgraded my macro lens to the 100mm DA WR Pentax lens and added the Pentax 35mm macro too. Remote cable, CF tripod and monopod.Feedback
I used quite a fast shutter speed to eliminate any movement and ensure sharpness, in addition a fast shutter speed helped to avoid blowing the whites on the Puffin. I also used f5.6 to give some nice Bokeh to the background. On a sunny day like this, this was quite easy, but on a another day with less light it may be necessary to increase ISO or widen the aperture further or both.
