Thanks Gigi, I thought the 'landscape' aspect of this was better but that is not what the voters thought, surprised me.

Love the dramatic sky & clouds! Beautiful view, pure Serenity, with the lighthouse overlooking the water under the twilight of sunset

Location
One of the most picturesque places on a trip around Nova Scotia, Peggy's Cove. Stayed 2 nights and 3 days in this area and this was taken on our first day of photography here. Could not ask for a better sky.Time
This was captured just after sunset. The sun had just dropped below the horizon and according to the Exif data this image was captured on October 12, 2015 at 5:44PMLighting
The lighting for a sunset was about as perfect as you can get along with the feather like clouds in the sky. What else can I say about sunset time. Wow!Equipment
For this image I used a Canon 5D Mk II with EF24-105 f/4L IS USM mounted on a Gitzo Tripod with RRS ball head. I used aperture priority at f/16 with focal length of 35mm, ISO 320 which gave me an exposure time of 1/30 sec. I also used a 0.6 Grad ND filter.Inspiration
Peggy's Cove is a very popular tourist destination and we spent just about all day here. During the peak hours of 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM it got very crowded. As I watched the sky and the beautiful clouds, I had a hunch it was going to be a good sunset, so we waited for it. We were richly rewarded to one of the best sunsets I have captured in a long time. I wanted the lighthouse in the image and knew I had to capture it while there was still enough light to show details and not just a silhouette.Editing
I use Lightroom as my main photo editing program and for this shot it only needed some very minor adjustments to highlights, shadows, white and black clipping. I finished the editing in On1 Effects to improve the contrast, reduce noise and sharpen. In my camera bag
I have two bags. One for mostly landscapes with a Canon full frame camera (in this case a 5D Mk II) along with my go to lense the EF 24-105mm f/4 zoom, EF16-35mm f/2.8 and EF70-200mm f/2.8 with various ND and CPL filters. In my other bag I have it set up for wildlife and macro with a Canon 7D and EF100-400 f/3.5-5.6 zoom and EF 100mm Macro. Both bags also have spare batteries, a charger and several memory cards.Feedback
Know what time sunset or sunrise is and get there at least 30 minutes ahead of time, better still an hour ahead. In my case I spent quite a bit of time here and when I suspected the sunset was going to be good I walked around for over an hour scoping out various spots I thought gave the best composition. When I am planning a trip I pre-plan many shots using various sources on the internet along with recommendations from local photographers.
