Behind The Lens

Location

My mom and sister love Hibiscus flowers so they grew them in the past. I walked out after a visit and saw a perfect bloom. I just had to take a picture.

Time

It was late-afternoon sun that caused the shadow dapple in the flower.

Lighting

Normally, I wait until later in the day to take photos to get that golden light. But I'm an opportunist and took it when I saw it. Plus the setting sun doesn't hit my mother's front porch.

Equipment

Cell phone camera. This image is old enough that I don't remember what phone it was. It was one of the Galaxy phones.

Inspiration

I am always on the lookout for great photos. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to have the time to stop and take them.

Editing

Not on this photo. One of the few that I didn't even adjust the brightness on.

In my camera bag

I always have my phone.

Feedback

1) 3 dimensions. Try not to take photos head-on. You lose depth with that. 2) Always pay attention to your frame.
