Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in my garden at home, I am a intermediate photographer so winning something is a great boost for my confidence

Time

It was early evening, we were having a social gathering when I realized just how fantastic the light was. I grabbed my camera and managed to get off a few shots just before the light disappeared

Lighting

I wanted to achieve a bokeh effect as there was an ugly wall behind the blossom and did not want it to spoil my photograph

Equipment

Camera 70D, Canon 18-135mm,

Inspiration

The light was just great and could not be missed. I had been eying out the blossoms in previous days knowing that there was a photo in there somewhere. i had also seen someones submission on viewbug with a similar lighting

Editing

some cropping and a slight adjustment to the exposure. I know very little about post editing so I try and capture it correctly in camera

In my camera bag

Slik Tripod, multiple lenses from 10mm all the way up to 500mm (Canon & Sigma), Zomei Flash

Feedback

The only thing I can advise anyone is to learn the setting on you camera, know what setting give what results and keep practicing and be very critical of your own work. Find groups who are able to add constructive advice and critiques. Take hundreds of photos
