This took 2nd Place in My Forever Frozen Contest. I had a real tough time between this and the first place winner. I thought you deserved to know you came so close.

Location
I took this photo up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin at one of my favorite lakes. For years my husband and I had a camper here and would spend weekends hiking and fishing. Beautiful area!Time
This is a sunrise shot as that is my favorite time of day! We were heading down the stairs for a bit of ice fishing, and the sun had just started to peek out over the trees on the horizon and I shouted "STOP! I need to go get my camera!!" I got back in time to catch this beautiful scene.Lighting
I was really looking to catch the warmth of the sun over the cold and crispness of the snow. It turned out to be a wonderful success!Equipment
At the time I was using a Nikon D7200, with the standard lens and no filters, no tripod.Inspiration
The view is what always inspires me to take a photo. I'm not a studio photographer, and I'm not too fond of taking pictures of people, posed ones anyway. So when the moment is there, I can see the photo in head first, then I create it with the camera on the spot. Sometimes it turns out beautiful, sometimes, it doesn't.Editing
I do usually look at the pictures I take on the computer and tweak them a bit. My favorite software is Corel Paintshop Pro and I love the Local Tone Mapping setting they offer. I like what I call "crispy" photos. Very sharp and intense colors. In my camera bag
Currently I carry a Nikon D750 full frame camera with a standard lens, a 70-300mm lens, a fish eye lens, a large zoom lens, a 2" lens ball, some filters and a tripod. That's all, LOL!Feedback
Be prepared to shoot photos at anytime, or plan special trips that you concentrate on turning on your camera eye, and take the photos that touch you. Getting an emotional response from yourself first is the first step to touching others with your art!!
