I determined that this night the moon would be just high and bright enough to light up the canyon without drowning out the stars. It had been a fairly cloudy day which made for a fantastic sunset but I was afraid it would cover the stars. Fortune was on my side as the clouds began to clear out giving way to a spectacular sky filled with stars and very little light pollution. Taken 6-9-2016.
