Inspiration

I'm always out in the desert taking pictures. On this particular evening the clouds were lining up perfectly to create a beautiful sunset. A friend and I arrived in Saguaro National Park just in time to take the short hike up this trail. I'd seen this spot previously and thought it would make a great foreground. The sunset exploded in true Arizona fashion.

Editing

Very minor and mostly in raw. I lowered the highlights, increased the shadows and added a bit of contrast and sharpening.

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, Nikon D600, several Nikkor lenses, cpl filters, several extra batteries and memory cards, first aid kit, and a Dolica tripod.

Feedback

Being in the right place at the right time is always good, but being a little early and staying a little later makes all the difference.
