A young devotee is helped in getting dressed with all the decor and fancy accessories during a Hindu festival of Gajan or Charak, which is celebrated mainly in the last two days of the month of Chaitra (around mid April) in rural Bengal to appease Lord Shiva. The festival is associated with devotees painting their bodies, playing with fire, undergoing body piercings etc. to signify a form of penance.
