A devoted kid, with her face painted as a part of enacting folklores during a Hindu festival of Gajan or Charak, with the belief to appease Lord Shiva. The festival is celebrated mainly in the last two days of the month of Chaitra (around mid April) in rural Bengal. It is associated with devotees painting their bodies, playing with fire, undergoing body piercings etc. to signify a form of penance.
