The last section of Hadrian's Wall before it joins the fort at Walls End (Segendum). Note the reconstruction to the left, its not clear if the actual wall had ramparts except on the milecastles, but nonetheless gives a fair impression of scale and width. Beyond, ongoing digs expose more of the wall. Around the site suburban Newcastle upon Tyne dominates.
