A shot of Milecastle 39 on Hadrian's Wall in Northern England, colloquially known as "Castle Nick" due to its central position on a natural dip in the Whin Sill, a volcanic ridge that hosts the central sector of the wall. The milecastle has visible barrack buildings that could have housed anywhere between 8 and 36 men, now the only inhabitants are long grasses between the stones. The wall can be seen to the west climbing precipitously back up the slope. The north is clothed in shadow, but where an enemy used to lurk now only sheep graze and small copses of trees mark the passage of years.
